CABE Mandarin Current Officers
President - YINGJIAO (YOGI) KANG
Yogi is the founder of 1 World Education and One Plus Education Services and director of a trilingual preschool. She has a bachelor degree in Math & Computer Science from Dalian Ocean University and a master degree in Early Childhood Education from Missouri State University. Yogi is known as a passionate and experienced Chinese lecturer who loves to work with learners of all ages and skill levels. She specializes in creating fun and innovative ways to teach and engage students. Her past experience includes maintaining a Learning Chinese the Fun Way Meet-Up in Santa Monica, teaching at First To Learn Learning Center, FUMC Preschool, Broadway Elementary School, Milken Community High School, Westside Chinese School, and Carlthorp Elementary School.
Vice President - YIYUAN (TIFFANY) ZHANG
Tiffany is currently working as a grade level lead teacher in a Mandarin Immersion Program in Pasadena Unified. She was born in China and has been pursuing her qualifications and experiences for language education in the United States. She graduated with a B. A. in English from China, a M. Ed. from University of California, Riverside, a M. A. in TESOL from Pepperdine University. She possesses a California Multiple Teaching Credential (with BCLAD in Mandarin) and is currently teaching in a dual immersion school in Pasadena Unified. She has devoted her energy and time in K-5 classrooms in the past five years and specializes in utilizing interactive practices to promote comprehensible input. She values the use of gamified pedagogies in language development. She continues to refine her philosophy in teaching and believes that “education can turn mirrors into windows”.
Secretary - CINDY LI
Cindy (Ai-Ling) Li, is an adjunct professor at Cal State LA and co-coordinator of the Mandarin bilingual authorization program. She is also currently the Secretary of CABE Mandarin. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development with a Multiple Subject Credential and Mandarin Bilingual Authorization in 2016. She received her Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis on Reading and Literacy. She received her Reading Special Credential along with a Reading Authorization with the completion of her studies in the Master program. She taught in the public school setting as a founding, primary Mandarin dual language teacher for 6 years.
